Curie Point Pyrolysis

This pyrolysis type can be applied in comibination with any available GC, IR or MS and enables the gaschromatographical alalysis of non-volatile (solid matters) substances.

Especially suitable for fundamental research like studies of polymeric mechanisms the pyrolysis offers the ideal add-on equipment for any GC, also combined with a mass- or IR-spectrograph.

The Curie Point is physically defined as the salient point, where ferromagnetic material is demagnetized by heating. The stabilization of temperature after reaching the characteristic Curie Point is ensured by special ferromagnetic filaments as well as

induction frequency.  The temperature can only be changed by preselecting a

filament, representing the required temperature. These special ferromagnetic filaments are available either in straight wires, tubes or spirals in the temperature range from 160°C up to 1040°C.

The sample is being pyrolysed in the corresponding filament by heating-up till the Curie Point within milliseconds and then transported by a carrier gas to the GC.
