Ozone Generators for Research and Industrial Applications
Ozone has become a standard medium in many different research areas.
It is extensively used in chemical laboratories of institutes,
universities and all kind of chemical, pharmaceutical, biological and
medical research institutes. Further applications are increasingly
environmental research, food processing, drinking water and waste water
treatment, food processing plastics and packaging industries as well.
The ozone production is based on the principle of “silent electrical discharge”.
The electrical discharge is caused by an electrical alternating field
which is generated between two concentric tube electrodes with an
interferric space gap for oxygenous gas throughput and a dielectric
made of glass or ceramics. Thus part of the amount of oxygen is
converted to ozone. Our recently development discharge tubes are made
of stainless steel and have special ceramic electrodes. Thus the
necessary operating voltage can be reduced significantly.
